SELF REFLECTION

I really surprised myself with this photo set because I realized how much I can achieve with only light and shadow. In most of my photos I pay attention to vibrant colors, but with black and white I learned how to give my photos a vintage, nostalgic and occasionally haunting tone. In order to redefine the shadows with the book and box of stamps I increased the black point and shadows. The birds eye view photo is one of my favorites because I feel it will make the viewer curious as to where it was taken. My least favorite picture is the back lighted picture. I feel like the light source is too defined and I also had to distort the picture to get the silhouette effect. In my editing I tried to sharpen the images slightly to make it easier to see the details of the smaller objects like the stamps.
