This was one of my favorite drawings we've done so far. We had to fill in the dark and light values leaving the gray of the paper as our middle tones. This was a unique way of drawing and was fun to try. It was challenging to pick a reference photo that had enough dark, light, and gray values to draw.
Although I wasn't here for most of the portrait unit, I tried my best to use the techniques I learned to create a self portrait. I believe that I created an accurately proportioned figure that is somewhat realistic and used a full value scale. However, I wish that I could've done a better job making the portrait look like me.
The three cups drawing was the first drawing we completed in drawing one. It was mainly focused on composition. I used my pencil to measure the proportions of the objects and attempted to accurately match it by transferring what I saw onto the page. The shading is non existent and mainly focused on the size of the objects in relation to each other.
